You don’t know me yet? Then, there is no more time to waste.
I am Alexander Kluckner and a civil engineer. My speciality? Rock mechanics – where the architecture of the nature itself becomes challenging, but also provides possibilities for imposing constructions, and where every project is more than a close collaboration with the elements. After many years of teaching, organising, calculating and putting forth a lot of effort, I could earn the doctoral degree at TU Graz in 2023. Having that in my backpack, I currently pursue my profession at the Vorarlberger Illwerke. There, my tasks bring me high up the mountains, but also deep into them.
Those highs I not only find and look for in my professional life, but also aside from it when I devote my free time to my other passion: running. What started as a simple hobby soon became a lifestyle – and that one leads me to paths mastering them requires discipline and mental strength. Ultra marathons and ultra skyraces? Check! But most of the time, not the race against time is to the fore. It is rather about feeling myself and the environment, and experiencing my personal limits and shifting them. Exploring the world by running – I cannot think of any better way.
The next goals? They are already set and I work and train towards them. The balance between technical know-how, physical activity and the enthusiasm for the mountains is my daily drive – and maybe this is the secret for why I continuously proceed in my areer and on the track.
