DATA PRIVACY STATEMENT

Users’ rights

You have the right to access, rectify, restrict, revoke and object to the processing of your data stored on this website, as well as to have your data deleted and transferred. If you believe that the media owner is violating data protection regulations, you can complain to him using the contact form or to a data protection authority (Austrian Data Protection Authority: https://dsb.gv.at/; last accessed: 08.02.2025, 5:00 p.m.).

Data collection

When using the contact form, the user has the option of entering personal or business data (name, email address, telephone number) that falls under the category of personal data. The disclosure of this data by the person using the contact form is expressly voluntary. The data disclosed by the user is collected, stored and treated confidentially by the media owner.

Data processing

The data collected is used by the media owner to respond to user enquiries (e.g. responding to an enquiry via the contact form).

The data collected will not be passed on to third parties.

The legal basis for the processing of data disclosed by the user on a voluntary basis and with his or her consent is Art. 6 (1) (a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (last accessed: 09.02.2025, 8:00 p.m.).

Duration of data storage

The collected data will be stored for a maximum of 365 days from the date of the last written communication between the user and the media owner (e-mail or letter on paper). After that, the data will be deleted. The data will not be deleted if there is a justified reason for further storage. The user can request early deletion by submitting a request for data deletion.

Security measures for data protection

The collected data is stored in a password-protected spreadsheet. The password required to open this spreadsheet is known only to the media owner and is set in accordance with the basic rules for password selection (last accessed: 08.02.2025, 5:08 p.m.) and changed regularly.

Data protection by the host

This website is hosted by https://www.world4you.com/ (the company providing the service is hereinafter referred to as the host). When this website is accessed, the host creates web server log files (= log files) for reasons of operational security, to compile access statistics, etc. (see here and here; last accessed: 03.02.2025, 08:45 p.m.):

  • the page accessed (URL);
  • the browser or browser version;
  • the operating system used;
  • the referrer URL (the previously visited page);
  • the host name and IP address of the accessing computer;
  • the time of the server request.

 

According to this page (last accessed: 03.02.2025, 20:45), the IP address is considered personal data. In addition, error log files are created, which are helpful in finding errors and are available to the media owner of this website. All log files are stored for two weeks in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and then automatically deleted. For the operation of this website and related services (content management system, email), the host acts as a processor for the media owner, whereby the host’s general terms and conditions (GTC; last accessed: 12.02.2025, 8:20 p.m.) and the data processing agreement (DPA; last accessed: 12.02.2025, 8:20 p.m.) apply. Data processing by the host is subject to the GDPR. Appendix 1 of the DPA (last accessed: 12.02.2025, 8:20 p.m.) lists the types of personal data that are processed. The host, as the data processor, is supported by subcontractors as additional data processors. The additional data processors currently employed are listed in Appendix 2 of the DPA (last accessed: 12.02.2025, 8:30 p.m.). The host ensures that the host’s data protection obligations are transferred to the other processors and complied with by them. However, the subcontractors commissioned by the host only process data from the interaction between the host and the media owner. No data from persons using this website is processed.

Emails to or from the media owner that are assigned to the email service linked to this website are stored by the host. Emails deleted by the media owner are stored on the server of the host for a further 14 days after deletion. They are then irrevocably deleted. The same applies to associated email logs.
